Love Trilogy Character Introductions:
Miss tourguide - - Liu Hai (played by Ruby Lin)
Twenty years old, same age as Zi-ming, actually not only are they the same age, both their personalities also are similar in many places, one of them is the love of books, her family was poor, did not have the opportunity to go to college, but she treats books as if they were her life, often will see her w/ a book in her hands. Like Zi-ming, she loves the worlds w/i the books, it's not that the real world is not good, it's just that the worlds inside the books are more colorful, she thought about writing novels, & have written several, only thing was she lacks self-confidence & therefore have not publish them, to her, having written them was enough, as with love, having a crush on someone is suffice/enough, why must one have to date for real? Therefore, at 20 years old, w/ a beautiful appearance but actually have never dated anyone, her greatest love relationships have all occurred in books or movies, she treats these indulgences as if she had been in a relationship. To investigate its reason, not only does she lack self-confidence in her own writings, she also lacks self-confidence in her own looks, really maddening. Although she loves books, she's has a spirited, out-going personality, being a tourguide in the Shibo Yuan suits her very well, she likes to be around people, this time she meets three pairs of husbands/wives & lovers from different places, she acted as a go-between/matchmaker, helping them solve their disputes, it's just she hasn't thought that, she turned out to be the "leading lady" afterwards, falling in love w/ Zi-ming, and b/c of Zi-ming's appreciation towards her, this wooly insect finally turn into a butterfly.

(South Korean lovers)
Song Ziming (played by Wu Zhihao)
Twenty years old, a sophomore in college, lives in Seoul, is a romanticist, not a typical college student. He loves books, but dislikes the books his teachers wanted him to read, once protested against a teacher being unprepared for class, held a school strike against the low teaching standards, even held a hunger strike, but all were uselss, so he could only change his major, have to stay in school for an extra year, his family opposed, schoolmates laughed at him, isn't it better to graduated earlier? He has his own ways of doing things, has his principle. He likes to fantasize & has fallen in love with the worlds w/in the books, he often said he doesn't belong to the modern society, he should be born in the ancient Greek age, perhaps he could have been Socrates's disciple, then Socrates might not have been killed. He is fascinated w/ ancient civilizations, that simplicity and natural existence. Therefore, like Bai-sheng, he loves nature, especially the nature prior to pollution, after he read "The Lost Horizon", he was fascinated w/ the Shangrila described in the book, that paradise world. On this Yunnan trip, he wants to personally experience this place. Not only did he achieved it, he also found his other half, his miss tourguide.
BoBo (played by Yin Yuli)
Twenty-three, Ziming's girlfriend from Seoul, she's three years older than Ziming, when they first met she told him she was two years younger than him, a typical present-day young woman. It's just after several years of "partying", saw that she's getting "old", wanted to find a man to marry. Ziming is a college student, also fully-read, is her marriage material, therefore in the beginning, she always acted in front of Ziming the type of girl he likes, one who likes to read, being simple and rich in sympathy etc., but all these are lies, just like the thing about her age. They have been dating for half a year now, Ziming is starting to discover her true colors, there's a bit of regret, & she also started to discover, Ziming isn't the rich man she's looking for, he only likes to dream, also said that money is like muck, this is a far-cry from what she wanted. Being a make-up artist, she's used to seeing big stars, always hoped that someday to become one of them, to live a life of upper-crust society, if a man can't help her to achieve this idealistic goal, she can only "depend" on herself, recently she has a plan to diligently make money, she wanted to make money for plastic surgery, to become a big star someday, to make a lot of money & become rich.

Love Trilogy plot: The story starts off in Yunnan's Shibo Yuan: Three pairs of lovers arrived at Yunnan at the same time, meets Shibo Yuan tourguide, Liu Hai, the story thus begins..... The first pair arriving at Yunnan to tour are from Hong Kong, Mark & his wife Ah Cui [or Ah Tsuei] had been married for seven years, both had been childhood friends, they should travel the road together for the latter half of their lives. Although they are of the lower crust of society, but works diligently, also has that typical Hong Kong spirit to strive for success, but b/c of the market crash of a year ago, having worked so hard for their property, burdened w/ payments for the car, they are in debt, both are busy all day, their feelings for each other are starting to diminish. The second pair arriving at Yunnan to tour are from Shanghai, Xu Jing & Liu Bai-sheng just got married & are on their honeymoon. Bai-sheng is a workaholic, unknowingly neglecting Xu Jing. Before their departure, Xu Jing gave herself a pregnancy test at the clinic in which she works in, found out that she's expecting, thus becoming very worried, the reason being Baisheng still doesn't want to become a father yet, after they got married they discovered that there were many situations they both must adapt to, even sacrificing, life is really not very easy. The third pair traveling are from South Korea, Song Zi-ming and his girlfriend BoBo are a young couple dating for only about half a year. Ziming is a sophomore in college, loves romance, loves literature, wanted to come to China to look for the heaven on earth Shangrila, but BoBo actually is a fashionable, vain, present-day woman, when Ziming first met BoBo she was nothing like this, discovered that she is moving further & further away from what he had thought her to be, this pair represents a man & a woman still searching in the realm of love, the appearances they gave each other are often quite different from their essence. Seeing these three pair of lovers, miss tourguide, Liu Hai, has her own innate opinions, in the course 2-3 of introducing Shibo Yuan, she has become a "go-between/matchmaker" for these three pair of lovers, acting as an intermediary many times, helping them settle their disputes, had them all convinced, but also stirred up a lot of storm. And Ziming & BoBo separated in the end, but Ziming had wanted to go to Shangrila, how can he abandon it midway now? He asks Liu Hai, whether she can continue being his tourguide? Liu Hai has a good heart, w/ a "delivering Buddha deliver him all the way west" heart [meaning you started helping someone in the first place, might as well go all the way & finish helping that person], agreed to accompany him to Shangrila, to fulfill his wish. But when they arrived in Shangrila, there was a change in situation, don't know if it was b/c of this beautiful place, both started having feelings for each other, in Ziming's heart, in comparision, Liu Hai was much better than BoBo, was much gentler, but Liu Hai is a novice in the game of love, was throwned into confusion right on the spot.....     |
